OSHA has modified the Hazard Communication Standard to adopt the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. Employers must train employees on the new label elements and safety data sheet (SDS) format by December 1st 2013. This course provides a basic introduction to the expected changes to OSHA?s Hazard Communication Standard as we know it. Participants will learn about the expected impact these changes will have on manufacturers, suppliers and employers. Upon completion of the course you will understand the harmonized format of the safety data sheet, additional compliance dates for chemical manufacturers, importers, distributors, employers, and how you can begin to take preliminary action to comply with GHS and ensure a smooth transition into a globally harmonized hazard communication system.
